Shame on me for not purchasing more from Black-owned businesses. Over the past few months, I decided to change this and have made purchases from a few places. I’m going to highlight what I have purchased, and what’s next on my shopping/wish list.
KNC – a fun skincare line that focuses on lips and under eyes. You can’t go wrong with this line from their lip mask to their under-eye mask.
Retinol-Infused Eye Mask – 5 pack $25 or 10 Pack $40
First of all the shooting star is such a cute and fun take on under-eye mask. Your under-eye area will feel fresh, hydrated, smooth, depuffed, and brighten. Personally, I love putting mine in the refrigerator or if you have a makeup fridge, feels great on a hot summer day! Plus the coldness will help with puffiness. (imagines are from Sephora)
The main reason I was drawn to this product because it came with a lip scrub. As someone with dry lips I wasn’t sure this would make a huge difference, but I still wanted to give it a try. I’m so glad I did…it help provide deep moisturization and helped prevents my lips from drying out. Plus the scrub smells divine.
I’ve haven’t much luck with lip masks in the past. I usually breakout around my lips. I’m planning to exfoliate with the Supa Scrub then throw this mask on and #lipmaskandchill for up to 20 minutes. 5 pack $25 or 10 Pack $40 (images are from Sephora)
“54 Thrones is natural, authentic and thoughtful. They imagine how your skin will react to every ingredient before adding it to our formulas to ensure our products are a totally decadent sensory experience.”
I was drawn to their packing. I’m sucker for fabulous packing. I love the gold with the classic capitalize font. Their butter has won me completely over. This is my go to hand cream now, I use the Egyptian Lavender Mint during the day and Unscented at night.
Hyper Skincare first and only product (so far) is a vitamin C serum. This serum is a blend of hyper-effective clean and natural ingredients like vitamin e, kojic acid, turmeric and bearberry that work together to brighten skin, smooth texture and drastically treat hyperpigmentation.
I’m really glad I added add this serum into my morning skincare routine. They challenge you to wait 21 days to see the results. After using for two weeks, and I can see a slight difference in my skin’s texture and color pigmentation. I’m looking forward to see the results at the 21 day market. I can’t wait to see what else they come up with.
I recently became aware of this brand via my Glory SkincareBox (another Black Owned Business – Located in PDX). I was excited to give this brand a shot since their line is all about clean beauty.
This summer I started using mist toners, GlowRx mist is amazing! It’s so hydrating, soothing, and great for skin-prepping. Plus it seems great too! I will be ordering this toner in the future.
This all natural cleansers feels great and gentle on the skin. Offering a exfoliating coconut-based cleanser with pomegranate and papaya fruit extract. The only downside for me is I’m not a fan of the scent, but once I wash off the cleanser off I scent doesn’t linger.
Next purchase from The Koop NYC
